[Wirt is much more ruffled today. In the background, his Buizel is busy punching a tree. His other Pokemon, Swablu, Shinx, and Fennekin are keeping their distance.]

S-So! [Nice voice crack, there.] Uh, anyway- m-my Buizel hatched and....well he...punched me in the face.

He just wants to fight everything! He beat up poor Tesla, and he's got type advantage! I really...don't know what I'm supposed to do here! I-I mean, you'd think I'd just take him to the gym or something, right?

W-well, I really don't....know much about Pokemon battling....and I really don't want to? I usually just let them do what they want if a wild one shows up. But this guy- [he pans the camera over to the tree puncher. He's really into it, and has worn off some of the bark.] J-Just...please help me out, okay? I really need it!

Some things are made to fight, and from the look of it, most of the animals here are! If it's in something's nature to be like that, why would you want to stop them?

B-Because that's no better than dog fighting! I...I've never owned a Pitbull, b-but I've heard they can be good dogs!

This isn't a matter of making animals fight for human pleasure - they're at least as smart as we are, most of them. They can make their own decisions! Surely you've seen that, at least?

Some Pokemon just like to battle more than others! And I've got some Pokemon who just don't really like to battle all that much at all, so it really depends...it sounds like your Buizel might be getting kinda antsy though, yaknow?

Well, first, you probably should tell him what he is and isn't allowed to do. And have a consequence in mind if he breaks those rules.

Th-there's got to be some kind of gym in town, besides the one that you fight Falkner at, they have to have some punching bags you can use.

My Typhlosion was like that when she was little, too. She'd pick fights with just about anything, and that's a bit harder to do damage control on when they've got fire-breath. I didn't like Pokemon battling either, but once I started actually training her she did calm down some.

S-So what do I do? Just...get into fights with people, then?

I wouldn't do trainer battles right away. I didn't even try until I'd gotten used to directing them against wild Pokemon. Just read up on the sorts of moves they have, and keep an eye out when you're on the road. If you're near a town, it'd be a good idea to stock up on a few Potions to use after a really bad battle, too.

[He sighs.] Well, I guess I don't have much of a choice. At least...wild pokemon are easier.
